Xilisoft ASF Converter is a multi-format video converter. Although the application has "ASF" on its title, it actually can open a variety of formats and convert those into a few different formats. The input formats that are supported are too many to list them here. I am pretty sure that most popular formats should be accepted. Regarding output formats, this converter can encode files using the following codecs: ASF, AVI, M4A, MOV, MP3, MP4, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.264, and WMV.
I remember ASF was my favorite video format when video streaming was becoming popular. It allowed for great video and audio quality and files to be highly compressed. So, to test this application, I used an MKV file, which is the standard for high definition video and converted it to ASF, just to see how ASF does nowadays. The conversion process took a little over 2 minutes, which is acceptable for an HD MKV file. The conversion went smoothly and the resulting file played surprisingly well. It was of great quality. I would even dare to say that it was identical to the MKV file.
So, all in all, this converter works great, it has a great interface, and it supports a few video and audio formats. |
